The Spanish Interior Ministry have today issued a press release, with concerns about potential problems at Estadio Sánchez Pizjuán, when Sevilla take on Freiburg in the Europa League on Thursday.

The State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport, a government body within the Spanish Interior Ministry, has declared the game to be a “high risk” event.

Whilst they haven’t revealed if they have any particular intelligence to suggest there are fears of any clashes between rival fans, they have placed Police and security on high alert, ahead of the match.

Sevilla FC meanwhile, haven’t yet offered any statements of their own, or response to the decision by the Interior Ministry.
