Atletico Madrid midfielder, Oliver Torres credits the coaching staff for the squads unprecedented and unforeseen early season success, having strung 10 wins in a row between La Liga and the Champions League and the promising Spanish U21 star is hoping this success lasts for many years.

In a recent interview, Torres insisted that the squad’s style and success is not just a flash in the pan, but the fruition of a project started two years ago following the arrival of manager, Diego Simeone and one which is built to withstand the tests of time.

“Our run of form comes down to a number of different factors.  Since the coaching staff came in, they’ve instilled a certain playing philosophy and I don’t think we’ve ever lost our spirit.  That’s why we’re doing so well.  Right now, what’s most important is that we maintain this run and we hope to continue this way for a long time.”

Torres went on to add that the fans have played a major role in their success and he is very happy to hear people on the streets supporting the club.

“It’s a joy to walk down the streets and hear people shout ‘Aupa Atleti,’ and to see the kids with happy faces.  At the end of the day, we are working to earn everything and make people happy.  In this sport, if we don’t enjoy every moment, it wouldn’t be the ‘Beautiful Game’.”
