Bale in “El Clasico’ fitness race
Real Madrid attacking midfielder, Gareth Bale has played just 132 minutes for Los Blancos since making his record-breaking move from Tottenham with thigh soreness limiting his participation and most recently ruling him out of competition for several weeks, but the Welshman is preparing his return against his side’s bitter rivals, Barcelona.
Bale returned to training on Monday, after being inactive for over a week since experiencing muscle soreness following Real Madrid’s 0-1 loss to Atletico Madrid and is now following a plan, drawn up by manager Carlo Ancelotti, with the goal of being available for his first ‘Clasico.’
Bale was joined by the remaining six players not on international duty, with the focus on building up his leg strength to make his return against Malaga on the 19th October.
However, his minutes will be limited against the Andalusians as Ancelotti is going to let loose the Welshman in their 23rd October Champions League meeting with Juventus at the Santiago Bernabeu, while hoping to have the 24-year-old in full force of ‘El Clasico’ against Barcelona on the 26th.
