Villas-Boas: I can’t comment on Bale’s injury, he’s no longer my player
Tottenham Hotspur manager, Andres Villa-Boas was spotted at Barcelona’s Mini Estadi to scout the talent Barcelona’s B squad had to offer in their 0-1 loss to Deportivo on Sunday evening and when reporters caught up to the Spurs boss, he refused to comment on his former player, Gareth Bale’s injury.
When asked about the prolonged injury to his former midfielder, who was sold to Real Madrid in the most expensive transfer in football history, Villas-Boas remained mum and refused to get himself embroiled in controversy.
“He is no longer one of my players. I can’t comment on that.”
However, Villas-Boas, who spent the match with Barcelona manager, Tata Martino in the club’s box, did comment on the current standings in La Liga.
“Don’t forget about Atlético. Barcelona is very strong and Real Madrid is still in there, but Atlético de Madrid is a very motivated side and must be taken into consideration.”
