Impersonator tricks Scolari into revealing Diego Costa intentions
Brazil manager Luis Filipe Scolari revealed his intention to call up Diego Costa for the next two friendly games… to a radio show impersonator.
Popular Cadena Cope radio show ‘El Partido de las Doce’ has found out exactly is on the mind of Brazil boss Luis Filipe Scolari, when it comes to striker Diego Costa, amidst the tug-of-war with Spain for the player.
Using an impersonator, posing as Atlético Madrid president Enrique Cerezo, they called the Brazil manager, who was adamant that he will be calling Diego Costa up for the next two friendly matches, against Honduras and Chile.
“I’m going to call him up for the matches on 16th November in Miami and 19th in Toronto. I did not speak to the player, but I spoke with Jorge (Mendes, his agent) and I asked him if the player wanted to talk with us, because we received the reports that Spain want to call him up, but this is case study, because he’s played two friendlies with out national team.”
The impersonator also coaxed Scolari into stating his intentions for the player with the Brazil squad.
“If I were to choose the squad for the World Cup today, Costa would be on the list. I love him. He’s first on the list. I have a second and I have to look for a third.”
As yet, it’s not clear if the Brazil coach realises he’s been hoaxed into revealing his steadfast intentions for Diego Costa, to someone he thought was the Atlético Madrid president.
