Romanian striker Raúl Rusescu is in Portugal for a medical, ahead of completing his loan move from Sevilla to Braga.

Raul RusescuRaúl Rusescu has travelled to Portugal for his medical on 26th December, ahead of officially completing his loan move from Sevilla to Braga, for the remainder of the 2013-2014 season.

Rusescu hasn’t managed to make an impact on the starting eleven at Sevilla, with just eight minutes played in sixteen La Liga games so far this season. The Romanian has fared better however in the Europa League, with three goals in four encounters.

The lack of action and the form of Carlos Bacca and Kevin Gameiro in the starting eleven, has lead Sevilla to seek regular first-team action for the player. As such, an agreement has been reached with Braga, for the 25-year-old to join them for the rest of this season on loan. Contrary to earlier reports however, which suggested that the Portuguese side would retain an option to make the move permanent for €3 million, that now appears not to be the case. When the loan deal expires on June 30th, Rusescu will return to Sevilla ahead of next season and a second chance at earning himself an important role at the club.
