Top 50 Spanish Youngsters 13/14 – #43 – José Rodríguez (Real Madrid Castilla)

by Tom Conn | Posted on Friday, December 27th, 2013

Real Madrid Castilla midfielder, José Rodríguez comes in at #43 on ISF’s Top 50 Spanish Youngsters 2013/14 list and is widely considered the future of Los Blancos’ midfield.

#43: José Rodríguez

Club: Real Madrid

Born: December 16, 1994 (19)

International Tournaments: 2013 U-19 European Championship

Rodríguez has made a name for himself playing for Real Madrid’s Castilla side.

The native of Villajoyosa has played in 17 matches during the Liga Adelante season, supplying great passing and technique to the Castilla midfield. Born in the Valencian Community, José came to Real Madrid’s cantera at age 14.

In October of 2012, he made his first team debut and scored in a Copa del Rey match against CD Alcoyano. Two months later he made his La Liga and UEFA Champions League debut in the span of four days.

He is one of the more valuable players in Castilla’s side; he has been capped at U-17, U-19 and U-20 play, scoring and making an assist in the 2013 U-19 European Championship. A massively underrated pickup in FIFA 14’s Career Mode.

In action: Rodríguez’s debut for Real Madrid Castilla against Getafe’s B team. Lots of passing and shifty movements.
