Valdes to make return against Elche
Barcelona goalkeeper, Victor Valdes has resumed full training and will make his triumphant return in the Blaugrana’s 5th January La Liga contest against Elche.
Valdes, who suffered a torn calf on 19th November againt South Africa while on international duty with Spain, will receive his medical clearance next week and will be available for manager, Tata Martino by Sunday evening.
While Barcelona’s 37-year-old backup goalkeeper, Jose Manuel Pinto has filled in admirably for the Catalan shot-stopper, but also conceded eight goals in the eight games he played.
Meanwhile, Valdes went 19 games conceeding just 11 goals and keeping Barcelona undefeated until his injury and is vital to their success in maintaining their lead over Real Madrid and keeping pace with Atletico Madrid at the top of the La Liga table and also facing a strong Manchester City side in the next round of the Champions League in early February.
