Former AC Milan assistant and Chelsea scout under current Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, Giorgio Ciaschini recently revealed that the Italian has asked for Andrea Pirlo to join Chelsea, PSG and now Real Madrid, but has struck out every time.

In a recent interview with Spanish sports daily, AS, Giorgio Ciaschini spoke about Ancelotti’s obession with Pirlo and his recent attempts at luring the Italian international to the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Andrea is a player who quit Milan after giving the impression that he could be in better shape physically, not for tactical or technical reasons. He could fit into any side. Ancelotti asked about him while he was at Chelsea, last season when he was at PSG and even recently with Real Madrid. Pirlo is a universal footballer. The problem is that Juventus are not that keen on letting him leave.”

Ciaschini then spoke about Ancelotti’s love for AC Milan and a possible return to San Siro, as well as his desire to manage the Ivorian Coast national team.

“When Ancelotti talks about Milan, he is talking right from his heart. I think he would be very happy in Milan.

“He would love to coach the Ivory Coast team, more than anything else because of Didier Drogba – Carlo loves Drogba. It would be a great way for him to gain even more experience but I think the only national side he will coach will be Italy.”
