Barcelona rules out Cristian Tello loan

Barcelona have ruled out the loan of winger Cristian Tello, despite serious interest from Liverpool and Valencia.

According to Spanish sports daily, Marca, Barcelona’s coaching staff has ruled out the loan or transfer of La Masia graduate, Cristian Tello as they fear that if two or more players were to go down with injuries over the next six-months, they would be in dire straits and may drop points and results as a result, as was the case last December.

Tello recently admitted that he would look at his options if he wasn’t able to earn more playing time, but Barcelona have shut the window on a possible move for this year.

However, there is a strong possibility that Tello could leave the club this summer, as he faces competition from Pedro and Alexis, both of who have had their respective bouts of incredible form this season, limiting Tello’s chances of making it out onto the pitch.

While Barcelona get Ibrahim Afellay back from injury, the Dutchman hasn’t played for more than several weeks in two years and will need time to get match fit and cannot be relied on heavily should the need arise.
