Marc Bartra picked up knock in Elche win

Barcelona centre-back, Marc Bartra was forced to leave the pitch after picking up a knock in his side’s 4-1 win over Elche on Sunday evening, but the injury is not believed to be serious and the La Masia graduate was taken off merely as a precaution.

In the final moments of the win, Barta showed visible discomfort in his right hamstring and was promptly taken off by manager Tata Martino so as not to further aggravate the injury and allow the youngster to seek treatment immediately.

However, as Martino had used all three subs, it meant leaving his team a man down, which was inconsequential do to the insurmountable lead they had in hand.

Following the match, Martino had still yet to determine the extent of the injury and will not know until the team resumes training on Monday in preparation of their mid-week Copa del Rey match against Getafe, but unconfirmed reports from the locker room are that he merely had a cramp and isn’t serious.
