Atletico Madrid played to a 1-1 Copa del Rey draw against Valencia on Tuesday evening and while the game was thrilling on the pitch, the Valencia fans turned it into a rather ugly affair.

Throughout the match, Atletico Madrid’s Brazilian-born Spanish international striker, Diego Costa was subjected to

Xenophobic chants by the Mestalla crowd, despite the fact that the 24-year-old will likely be the starting forward when the Spanish national team travels to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup.

Costa was allegedly subjected to similar abuse by Malaga fans in their win at the weekend.

This video shows the chants, which are clearly heard and clearly directed at Costa when we was close to the touchline, with Valencia fans even hanging over the barrier in order to make rude gestures and taunt the striker even further.
