Real Sociedad president’s Paris visit sparks Antoine Griezmann transfer rumours
Real Sociedad president, Jokin Aperribay spent the last two days in Paris, sparking rumours that French winger, Antoine Griezmann could be on his way out of San Sebastian and headed to the French capital.
According to Spanish sports daily, AS, PSG has tabled a lucrative offer for the 22-year-old standout and while the offer has not been discussed in earnest over the past several days, business picked up on Wednesday evening when the president arrived on an Air Europa flight to Spain from Paris, accompanied by one of his most trusted advisors.
Aperribay admitted that he would not negotiate the transfer of Griezmann, especially in the winter, which would leave the club one player short in the attack and is hoping to force PSG to meet Griezmann’s €30 million release clause, the same way he made Real Madrid meet Asier Illarramendi’s €32 million release clause this past summer.
However, despite Griezmann having a contract until 2016, now that the forward is free to rejoin the French national team and if PSG activate his release clause, the club would have no choice but to send one of the most productive players in recent memory off to Paris.
