Thievy skips training and further frustrates Espanyol

Espanyol striker Thievy Bifouma reportedly missed the Friday morning training session, leading to further speculation that he’s at the point of leaving the club.

It’s no secret that Thievy is unhappy at Espanyol. Just last Tuesday, the player revealed talks with French side Rennes were in progress, whilst Málaga are also said to be trying to lure him to La Rosaleda.

His spats with the hierarchy at the Catalan club have been well documented and not for the first time this Friday, Thievy was absent from training, without any apparent reason given to coaching staff.

Espanyol have yet to release any further information as to why Thievy wasn’t present for training and as such, the speculation will mount that 21-year-old striker is edging closer to his desired exit. The player has felt that he should have a more important role in the starting eleven and thus far, has been mainly used by manager Javier Aguirre, from the bench.
