Getafe interested in Thievy and Oba Martins if Colunga leaves
Getafe forward, Adrian Colunga has reportedly received several offers to leave the Coliseum this January, forcing Luis Garcia’s mid-table side to look at Espanyol’s disgruntled Frenchman, Thievy and former Levante and current Seattle Sounders forward, Obafemi Martins as replacements.
According to Spanish sports daily, Marca, Getafe are bracing for the exit of Colunga and possibly also the recall of Lisandro to Benfica, but the two players exiting would leave them with enough funding to bring in either Thievy or Martins.
However, Getafe may be forced to look elsewhere as Thievy is said to be in deep negotiations with La Liga side Málaga and French outfit Rennes.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Martins just moved to Seattle this past March in a €3 million transfer from Levante and might not be willing to move, nor would Seattle likely be willing to sell him for any less than his previous fee of €3 million, which may be too high of a price for Getafe president, Angel Torres.
However, there is speculation that Seattle would be willing to move Martins on before the start of their new season, thus generating the interest from Getafe.
