Sevilla have announced that they have exercised the purchase option for Reading defender, Daniel Carriço, who is on loan until 30 June 2014.

Sevilla’s sporting director Monchi announced the permanent move for the 25-year-old Portuguese centre-back, but did not specifically detail the exact fee of the pre-arrange purchase option.

“He is a player that we’ve been following for a long time, we are happy with Dani and we will exercise his purchase option”

Carriço has played a total of 11 matches, including one Europa League match since joining the club this past July.

Carriço’s previously club Reading purchased the player from Sporting CP in December 2012 for a fee of €750,000 which will likely be close to the amount that Sevilla will pay the Championship League side at the end of his current loan deal.
