Jordi Cases, the member who brought charges against former Barcelona president, Sandro Rosell over what he believed to be misappropriation of funds stemming from the summer transfer of Neymar, has chosen to drop his case against Rosell and not progress with further action against new president, Josep Maria Bartomeu and economic vice president, Javier Faus.

Sandro RosellAccording to Spanish newspaper, La Vanguardia, Cases will follow the advice of his attorney Felipe Izquierdo, who publically stated that he would like to see his client drop the charges, and will indeed not proceed with the investigation against Rosell or the aforementioned Bartomeu and Faus, after Bartomeu revealed, in fine detail, the particulars and the true costs of the Neymar transfer, which turned out to be close to €86 million.

Cases will meet with the club’s board of directors to ensure them that he will indeed drop the charges, which he will do next week, which would avoid a lawsuit from Barcelona against Cases for loss and damages.
