Valencia are reportedly set to finalise a €3.5 million move that would send once-promising young midfielder, Sergio Canales to Real Sociedad for the next four seasons.

According to Spanish sports daily, Marca, the arrival of Seydou Keita in Valencia has facilitated the move of Canales, who after several weeks of negotiations appears to be on his way back up north after the player’s agent and both clubs came to an agreement on Thursday.

As part of the deal, Valencia will receive €3.5 million in a base transfer fee, which will increase as various bonuses and variables, up to several million, are activated.

Valencia will also receive 30% of the proceeds from the future sale of the player, if he is sold before his new contract expires in 2018.

Real Sociedad, for their part, will try to finalise the deal as soon as possible with a standard medical examination that will specifically test the player’s left knee, which has gone under two extensive reconstructive surgeries throughout his young career.
