Atletico Madrid left-back, Juanfran Torres lamented his side’s 3-0 Copa del Rey semi-final loss to cross-town rivals, Real Madrid on Wednesday evening and feels that Los Blancos were far more effective and has more luck.

In his post-match interview, Juanfran spoke about the disappointing loss and the need to come back and put on a fantastic performance in the second leg at the Vicente Calderon.

“We’re hurt, sad because it is a bad result. The match has been seen in a different way if they had not gotten those two goals and we could have put some of those in that we have had. I hope that at the Calderon it is different, starting with our fans and if we can get the first goal, hopefully it will be different.

“Playing against Madrid is difficult and in their stadium. This is football, they play their own way and we ours. They have been more effective and we have had such bad luck with two goals that were deflected. They deserved to win and we’ve lost.”

Juanfran went on to add that they must come back this Sunday against Almeria and get a win to boost their confidence.

“We will come in handy. We must always look at the positive side of everything, especially the defeats that the team will come out even stronger and we will win because we want to continue in the league as we are.”
