Sevilla’s Marko Marin to miss Barca clash after flying home for personal reasons

Sevilla winger, Marko Marin will not be available for Sunday evening’s La Liga clash against Barcelona, as the German handed in a request to be excused from the team to handle personal matters at home.

Marin, who has just been incorporated into the group’s training sessions after missing the past several months due to injury, asked the club to leave for the weekend, missing the game against Barcelona, so that he may deal with family matters.

The club acquiesced, as Marin was unlikely to feature in the match as he has yet gotten back to full fitness, while the club did not state what specifically the ‘personal reasons’ were.

Marin, on loan from Chelsea this season, had a strong pre-season and early start to the season, but injuries have kept him out of action for months and is still expected to feature prominently in the remaining weeks of the season, as the Andalusians need all hands on deck as they fight in both the Europa League and La Liga.
