Valera: Real Madrid can’t rely on Cristiano, nor will they need to

Getafe defender, Juan Valera insisted that his side is clinging to the outside chance that they could beat an in-form Real Madrid side this weekend, with the key being to try to make Los Blancos as uncomfortable as possible.

In a recent press conference, Valera spoke about their tactics, as they try to break their ever-growing losing streak.

“The last couple times they’ve come here, they haven’t been comfortable and we’re going to hold on to that, to try and make it an uncomfortable game, which they don’t like, and take advantage of all their errors and all of the chances we have.  Above all, we’ll be looking at every little detail because if you let your guard down for just a second, they’ll kill you.

“We know it’s going to be difficult.  Outside the dressing room and the club, nobody believes we’ll be able to get anything from the match, but I say that if we make Real Madrid suffer and we can make them uncomfortable in our stadium for a multitude of reasons, we can get something.  It will be a difficult match but we need to work hard because football is football and you never know what’ll happen.  We’ll play, give our all, we’ll play an ugly match and I think we’ll have our chances.”

Valera concluded by stating that although Cristiano is out of action, he’ll hardly be missed.

“Cristiano won’t be there, like last week against Villarreall when they scored four goals.  Real Madrid cant rely on just one player, they have a lot of very good players and I don’t think they’ll notice that one player is missing.  We need to focus, remain positive and know that in the past, big clubs have struggled here.”
