Piqué: It’s nothing to be worried about
Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué didn’t seem overly concerned, after his side fell to a 3-1 defeat at Real Sociedad.
Beaten at Anoeta, never one of the most successful of venues for Barcelona over recent years, Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué felt that just because his team were beaten by Real Sociedad, doesn’t mean to say their title race is over, but did concede that the team will have some thinking to do over the coming week.
“It’s nothing to be worried about. We’re one game away from the lead and it’s all the same if you lose one game or two, but we’ll have to analyse why things haven’t gone well for us. Now we have a week to rest and reflect.”
Barcelona didn’t seem to click with the rotations by manager Tata Martino, whilst Real Sociedad made their lives miserable throughout the game. Piqué suggested that it had just been a bad day for his team.
“Sometimes you go out there onto the pitch and don’t feel comfortable. Possession is our strength and they’ve taken that away from us. Their second goal was a really hard blow and we’ve paid for that.”
