Player of the Week : Round 30

by Staff Writer | Posted on Monday, April 2nd, 2012

While he narrowly missed out on Player of the Month adulation, Cristiano Ronaldo put in a performance for Real Madrid that not even Leo Messi could better.

Ronaldo and Real Madrid faced two dangerous opponents this week. The first was Champions League darling, APOEL and although Ronaldo did not score, his 10 shots and energy wore down defenders to allow his teammates to win 3-0.

On Sunday, the second of Madrid’s opponents, Osasuna saw Ronaldo simply put on a masterclass. In a 5-1 win, the Portuguese forward scored two, assisted two and was without doubt man of the match.

It was his fourth brace of the month and his first two assist match since October 15th.  If he can maintain this pace, Real Madrid might finish with the highest point total (99 – 09/10 Barcelona) in the history of La Liga
