Like any strong team, we’re always scouting for fresh talent. From time to time, we’ll be keeping our eyes open for feature writers and news contributors.
Here at ISF, our mission is to bring all the latest news and features from the Spanish game, to our rapidly growing audience throughout the world and in English.
Whilst Barcelona and Real Madrid are always the most popular teams and we cover them fully, we strive to offer balanced reporting of ALL the teams in La Liga… Simply put, there’s twenty teams competing in this league and each one of them is uniquely interesting and important for us to cover. We also cover all the Copa del Rey and European action, as well as closely following the Spanish national team and any other important news about the lower divisions and the game in Spain.
For our efforts, we have turned what began life as a blog and a hobby, into a website that is now highly respected and amongst the most popular sources of Spanish football news, in the English language. Because of that and our drive to keep improving and growing, we’re always on the lookout for new people to join our team of writers and contributors.
We can offer our prospective contributors the following:
· Full training on WordPress.
· Reporting knowledge, training on where to find stories and how to present them.
· Exposure. Your work displayed to millions of readers each month.
· Increase your social network and writing profile, gain valuable experience.
· 24/7 help, advice and guidance.
· References, help and “coaching advice” for budding journalists.
· Access to our network of contacts within Spanish football, to aid your reporting.
Our rapidly growing audience is reliant on us providing high quality, up to the minute content, twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year. With that in mind, we’re equally reliant on quality, reliable and conscientious contributors to the site.
Currently, we’re placing particular emphasis on speaking with people who are based in Spain and keen to cover a variety of different teams. Obviously further preference when we’re choosing writing staff and contributors, will be placed on those who are fully conversant in both English and Spanish.
We’re inundated with contact from people who want to write about the bigger clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona, but what sets us apart from other Spanish football websites, is the balance of our coverage of all the teams in La Liga.
We’re particularly keen to recruit more “feet on the ground” within Spain, for our coverage of each team in La Liga and we already have correspondents placed and accredited at a number of clubs.
Whilst we have no paid roles at present, we can offer the following help to our club correspondents:
- Full training
- Press accreditation with your chosen club
- Access for interviews and interaction with the clubs concerned
- Basic expenses covered
The main focus for club correspondents is to cover home matches live, providing match reports, post-match manager press conferences and comments from players, in the zona mixta afterwards. These are then published directly to the Inside Spanish Football website, as swiftly as possible after matches.
We’re also interested to hear from football bloggers, who focus their efforts on covering particular La Liga teams. Tell us about your blog or website and we’ll be happy to consider collaborations.
Be it close analysis of tactics, players and teams, or delving into the history books for a look at tales of yesteryear, good features can reach far beyond the headlines.
Whilst the location of feature contributors around the world is unimportant, clearly a good knowledge of the game itself and particularly in Spain, certainly is when it comes to offering articles that really grab the attention of our readers.
If you have a flair for discussing important and interesting footballing topics and a love of the Spanish game, we would delighted to hear from you.
The broader your knowledge and appreciation of teams and players in Spain is, beyond just the bigger clubs, the more interested we are to hear from you.
Internships have become a driving force for many growing media companies and ISF is no different. We are accepting applications for interns and work with the student to help them meet their academic requirements.
We are currently seeking interns in the following fields:
– Graphic Design (Logos, Banners, GIFs, XML coding, etc)
– Journalists/Writers (Club News/ Feature Writing)
Note: We currently do not have any paid roles, however as the site continues to grow, that will change and key contributors will be offered important positions within our lead editorial team. We do however offer alternative means of supporting our contributors, such as provision of media accreditations for matches and other events, as well as arranging access to our network of contacts within Spanish football and other media organisations.
