Barcelona have confirmed that Dutch winger Ibrahim Afellay will not be leaving the club this summer after links to Italian side Juventus.

Speaking after Barcelona’s 5-0 win over Italian side Napoli in the annual Joan Gamper trophy, sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta said : “Afellay will stay at Barcelona, we have had no contact with any clubs over the player.”

The Dutch international joined Barcelona in January 2010 and played a big part in their success last season, coming on in the Champions League final being the highlight of his season.
