Barcelona beat Atletico 4-1 on Sunday night to further extend their lead at the top of La Liga but Aragones was unsure whether or not to say that the title is over.
“It’s very tough to say that the Liga is decided. I remember a coach who was 10 points from the first-place team and said that his side wouldn’t be champions, and they were,” he told La Xarxa.
“You can’t say that because anything can happen in football. But it’s very difficult to take it away if Barça keep performing as they have up to now.
The former Spain national team coach then touched on Lionel Messi’s goalscoring exploits.
“Messi scores goals. He wasn’t so splendid yesterday, especially in the first half when Atlético covered him really well in the middle, and put the right pressure on him.
“As soon as Atlético Madrid’s intensity dropped, Messi appeared, because he always does. He scores goals, he passes; he’s got it all.
“Messi has a special mind for football and a special technique.”
