Atletico Madrid star Arda Turan has been linked with a January move to Arsenal with some outlets reporting he has agreed personal terms.

The Turkish midfielder has made his desire to leave Atletico known after his agent Ahmet Bulut claimed the 25-year-old wanted a new challenge.

“Arda has played at Atletico Madrid for two seasons now. I have wanted to see him play for another team in another league and Arda wants the same,” he recently told Turkish television.

“We are working on making this happen, Atletico know what our intention is and are working with us. If all goes well, Arda will leave the Madrid club at the end of this season.”

Reports linking the Turkish international with a move to Premier League side Liverpool had been sounded but unconfirmed reports on Thursday stated he had agreed personal terms with Arsenal.

Confirmation of the reports are still unsure and it is thought that Arsenal would be highly unlikely to pay the €24 million release clause in Turan’s contract;  €10m less than what they paid for Santi Cazorla.
