Former Barcelona player Johan Cruyff has praised Valencia midfielder Sofiane Feghouli after presenting him with the Algerian Golden Ball.

feghouliFeghouli was given the coveted award after some impressive performance for Valencia last season and during the current campaign and Cruyff has praised the midfielder.

“Feghouli is a player with great potential, is very powerful physically, has great technical quality and the spirit of self-improvement,” he told Valencia’s official website.

“I think that Valencia CF have got a great player.”

Cruyff then touched on the arrival of Ernesto Valverde who replaced Mauricio Pellegrino last month.

“He is a great addition for Valencia. When he was a player he was very intelligent and always showed me his interest in football and learning.

“As a manager, he is one of the most notable and promising in Spain. I really hope that Valencia get the results that their fans deserve, because they also have a good squad.”
