Atletico Madrid are set to make a final decision on Brazilian midfielder Diego as the players father jets in to Madrid to undergo talks.

Diego, could follow newly signed Radamel Falcao, Ruben Micael and Arda Turan in to Atletico as they are trying to bolster their side ready for the new season.

The 26-year-old Wolfsburg midfielder has made it clear that he does not want to play for anybody but the Madrid side and has rejected the chance to join Turkish club Galatasaray.

His father and agent, Djair Ribas is now expected to arrive at the Vicente Calderon on Tuesday afternoon to reach an agreement in a deal worth around €5m.

Atletico coach, Gregorio Manzano, sees Diego as the perfect player to play behind a strike force of Columbian Radamel Falcao and Uruguayan Diego Forlan if the latter stays at the club.
