Garcia: We have to play all out and with energy

Getafe manager, Luis Garcia stated that Thursday’s Copa del Rey opponents, Atletico Madrid are the best in the club’s history and Getafe will need to be at their absolute best if they hope to overcome a two-goal deficit and win.

In his pre-match press conference, Garcia insisted that his squad play all out and with energy if they hope to beat their cross-town rivals.

“It will not be easy.  We are not up to par with our opponents.  This is the best Atletico Madrid side that they’ve had in La Liga history and the history of Atletico Madrid is very long.  They’re a very very very difficult opponent and this past week, Arda nor Falcao players and I think they will.   We will try with all of our might and sometimes, surprises happen.

“The team is doing well, but not great.  Yes we got to sixth place and there was no feeling of euphoria.  This Copa match is different than La Liga and to change our ways, we needed to do it earlier.  We don’t have a strong defensive team, like we had before.  We need to get back to that.  I hope we can get Alvaro and Alcacer on a good run of form.  We need to play all out and with energy.”
