Alemeria manager, Javi Garcia lamented his side’s last-gasp 3-0 (Agg. 3-2) loss to Celta Vigo in extra time, after going into Galicia with a decisive 2-0 lead, and admitted that they lost the match in the final play, which he considers “unlucky”.

In his post-match press conference, Garcia was disappointed in the final outcome, but not in the output of his players and considered the final result “unlucky”.

“In the second half of the first leg we had many chances to kill off the tie.  In the end, we failed and left the door open for Vigo to come back today.

“We continued until our last breath, but in the last play, we ran out of luck.  Anyway, there is no time mourn the loss because we must prepare for our important match this weekend.

“I am proud of my squad because we achieved a good result in the first match against a great opponent and we eliminated two teams before this in our category; Alcorcon and Numancia.”

Garcia concluded my responding to comments made by Celta Vigo manager, Paco Herrera, who wished the match hadn’t gone to extra time because of the effects it will have on his players going into Sunday’s match.

“Paco said he didn’t want extra time? Well if he didn’t want it, he didn’t have to score in the last minute and then again in injury time!”
