Getafe 2-4 Real Betis: Betis triumphs in late game goal surge to firmly claim 4th place
Posted by TomConn on November 5th, 2012 10:19 PM | News, Primera LigaGetafe were approaching this match with the utmost humility, despite winning their last four out of five matches, they knew that Real Betis would be one of the more competitive opponents, also desperate for three points and maintaining their early season grip on a coveted Champions League place.

The final score belies the actual action in this match, as Getafe was much more aggressive going forward and dominated the first half, recording eight shots to Betis` one going into the break.
However, following the break neither side was able to establish themselves, trading possession and not seeing any clear chance.
The would not be the case for long, as a brilliant pass from Ruben Castro found Jorge Molina right in front of the goal at the 59th minute, to put the visitors up 0-1.
Yet, as would be a constant in this match, Getafe came roaring back, as an Paco Alcacer assist would find Diego Castro for the equaliser in the 68th minute.
There comeback was short lived as a highlight reel free kick by Benat put the visitors up 1-2 in the 74th minute, quickly followed by a Ruben Castro goal, assisted by Juan Carlos in the 76th minute to make the score 1-3.
While many of the fans and player thought the match was over, it seemingly was just beginning, as once more, Getafe came back in the 90th minute when a through ball from Adrian Colunga found Pedro Leon to put the homeside back in the game at 2-3.
In the end, Betis proved to be the better and more relentless side, when a fast break followed by a Nacho headed pass Salva Sevilla to put in the final goal of the night to make it 2-4.
What started as an uneventful and boring match, turned out to be one of the most thrilling of the season and proved Betis have the depth to hang with the elite teams of the league, while Getafe proved that there are capable of bouncing back with a talented squad.
Getafe: Moyá, Varela, Alexis, Rafa, M. Torres, Xavi Torres, Juan Rodríguez, Pedro León, D. Castro, Barrada and Álvaro
Real Betis: Adrián, Nelson, Perquis, Paulao, Álex M, Campbell, Beñat, Cañas, Juankar, Salva and Rubén Castro
