Celta Vigo manager, Paco Herrera was elated over his side’s 3-0 extra time win over Segunda side, Almeria to put them into the round of 16 in the Copa del Rey tournament, and stated that playing their next opponents, Real Madrid, is a reward for the fans.

In his post-match press conference, lamented the toll the win took, as it went to extra time, pushing his team to their physical limits, but is happy to be able to give the fan another two games against an opponent the caliber of Real Madrid.

“The extra time wasn’t what we wanted, because the league is very important.  We are happy to advance against the opponent in the next round.  Real Madrid is the gift we want to give our fans.

“I am worried about the fatigue of the players heading into Sunday’s match.  They showed a great effort against a great team.  We slowly picked up the pace of the game and when we started to play more compact we started getting more chances.  We deserved to move on.”
