Antonio Conte’s side lead the Serie A standings after the first 16 games but want to bolster their attacking options for the Champions League round of 16 as Nicklas Bendtner faces a race against time to be fit.
Two possible transfer targets have since emerged with a long reported link to Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente who has indicated his desire to leave the club.
However, after barely featuring for the Basque club this season, Juve remain unsure over approaching his representatives and could now make a move for David Villa.
Villa has recovered from a broken leg to force his way back into Tito Vilanova’s plans but those plans are still unsure as Villa sits behind Pedro Rodriguez and Alexis Sanchez in the battle to play along Lionel Messi.
Numerous clubs have been tracking his situation and the likes of Manchester City have been credited with an interest in the past but Juventus are keen to explore the option further.
Vilanova was full of praise for Villa following the former Valencia player’s performance in Barcelona’s Copa del Rey win over Cordoba on Wednesday and it is expected he will face Atletico Madrid this Sunday.
