Former Brazil international Rivelino has praised the midfield duo of Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez stating their ability to pre-judge makes them the best in the business.

The 66-year-old feels the Barca pair make a decision on what to do before the ball even arrives at their feet and believes their intelligence is a rare treat in football.

“Iniesta and Xavi think fast; like Brazilians. And that gives their teams an advantage,” Rivelino was quoted as saying by Marca.

“They pass and pass and pass, and suddenly pick out spaces for the forwards with great precision. They’re always doing something different.

“The last player I saw play with that intelligence was Zidane. They know what they are going to do before the ball gets to their feet. And that’s like gold in football.”

Rivelino made over 100 international appearances for Brazil during his time playing.
