Sevilla 1-2 Real Valladolid: Valladolid moves into European contention while Sevilla struggle at midtable
Posted by TomConn on December 3rd, 2012 10:21 PM | News, Primera LigaSevilla and Real Valladolid began this match with the same amount of points, both desperate for a win which would see them move into European contention and out of midtable.

Sevilla came out with a rather unorthodox line-up, as the injuries to the squad and the anticipation of their match against Espanyol this coming Friday, forced manager, Michel to play Diego Lopez in goal and Baba up top for Alvaro Negredo.
Meanwhile, Valladolid were at full strength and showed it early on, scoring a goal right out of the gates, as a pass from Oscar found striker, Patrick Ebert to but the visitors up 0-1 after just two minutes of play.
Valladolid, sensing the weakness of this Sevilla side, saw the powerful team of Oscar and Ebert put their second goal on the board, this time, from a pass from Ebert to give Oscar the goal in the 12th minute.
After overcoming the shock of being down 0-2 in just 12 minutes, Sevilla began to come back and started firing shots at Real Valladolid keeper, Dani, but the defence for Valladolid held strong going into the half.
Coming out of the break, the fortunes of Sevilla seemed to change as an own goal by Manucho cut their lead in half and brought Sevilla back in the match.
However, their joy was short-lived as a second yellow card to defensive midfielder, Gary Medel put them a man down against a commanding Valladolid squad.
Sevilla continued to assault Valladolid, despite being a man down, but it wasn’t enough as Valladolid move up the table to 7th, putting them in contention for an Europa League spot, while Michel is pushing the envelope on his time at Sevilla, after turning this team when he took over mid-season last year.
The highlight of the evening was a glimpse into Sevilla’s future with the much anticipated debut of 18-year-old midfielder, Bryan Rabello and the strong performance of Geoffrey Kondogbia.
