Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone recently spoke about the team’s incredible success in the first half of the season, which find them securely in second place.

simeoneEuropaIn an interview with Spanish radio station, Marca Radio, Simeone discussed the highlights of the season, while also stating that the fans should not worry about the future of star Colombian striker, Radamel Falcao and just enjoy him while he is there.

“To be competitive, we need to remain consistent with how we’ve been.  The most important thing is to maintain the structure, which is the thing I worry about the most.

“Reyes was the only one who left last December and very few players came in July.  We are all on the same path.

“Football is very broad, if you have the ball for 70 minutes and take three shots, I don’t know if you’re playing well.  The passionate ones think that playing the ball is to pass and retain possession, but I think football is much broader than that.   They see Barcelona and like it, but they can’t replicate it and when they try, they make mistakes.”

Simeone then discussed Radamel Falcao and his future.

“We need to be realists and I don’t like to lie to people, I don’t know what will happen with Falcao, we need to enjoy him while he is still with us.  If he stays, better for us, but I don’t look that far ahead, the important thing is that we play tomorrow and Falcao is with us.”
