Spurs approach Barcelona for David Villa despite seeing Liverpool rebuffed
Posted by Staff Writer on January 2nd, 2013 04:30 PM | News, Primera LigaTottenham have become the latest Premier League side to approach Barcelona for Spanish striker David Villa, according to several Spanish reports.
- By Staff Writer Follow @insidelaliga
Villa, who is Spain’s leading all-time goalscorer, has struggled to force his way back into the starting line-up at Camp Nou and is said to be getting increasingly frustrated.
However the Catalan side are still keen for Villa to stay at the club and have rejected offers from Liverpool and Chelsea in recent weeks, with the 31-year-old also happy to stay until the summer.
But Spurs boss Andre Villas-boas, is keen on pushing Barcelona into selling the striker.
It is not confirmed yet whether Spurs’ offer is on a loan basis or a permanent deal.
