Valencia are prepared to active their €500,000 buyback option on Levante’s Michel, as Los Che have been impressed with the midfielder’s progress for the cross-town club.

michellevanteAccording to Valencia-based sports daily, Superdeporte, the 24-year-old has finally lived up to his potential making 17 appearances for Levante this season and being one of the most consistent players for manager, Juan Ignacio Martinez.

Michel was unable to break into the first team under former manager, Unai Emery, spending loan spells with Deportivo in 2010-11 and Hercules in 2011-12, where he made 38 appearances and scored 13 goals for the Segunda side.

Due to the signings for Valencia this summer, Michel was again deemed surplus and sold to Levante this past summer, but retained buyback options of €420,000 in the first season and €840,000 in the second season.

However, Valencia aren’t willing to wait any longer, will activate the buyback option this summer, and Michel will sign a new three-year contract, with 30% of the transaction going to Levante.
