Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has won this season’s Ricardo Zamora trophy after having the best goals-to-games ratio in La Liga.

The Spanish stopper conceded just 28 goals throughout the season and had a better goals-to-games ratio than Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas to seal his fourth straight award and fifth in total.

Valdes is now on level with former Barcelona keeper Antoni Ramallets, who previously set the current record of five Zamora trophies between 1947 and 1962.

The 30-year-old keeper broke into the Barca first-team in 2002, winning his first Zamora in 2005 and has since played in 457 official matches, conceding a total of 358 goals.

During this season he also equalled Andoni Zubizarreta’s club record of 410 matches as Barcelona’s keeper and went 896 minutes without conceding a goal.
