Viktoria Plzen manager, Pavel Vrba was over the moon following his side’s 1-0 win over defending Europa League champions, Atletico Madrid as his Czech side passed to the next round as the number on team.

In his post-match press conference, Vrba was incredibly “proud” of his team’s play and despite not having their best performance, he considered it “a great success” to finish at the top of the group.

“For us, it’s a great success.  As for the game, we did not play perfect football, but we finished first.  The past six months have gone extremely well.

“I’m very happy and proud of our play this season.”

Viktoria Plzen currently leads the Czech League heading into the winter break and are hoping their Europa League performances will prepare them for a possible Champions League run next season.
